Innovate Grants - Call for Artists & Photographers  |  grants

Innovate Grant is now accepting submissions for Spring 2020. Innovate Grant awards (2) $550.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. The Darling Foundry, in partnership with the Indian organisations What About Art? and Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, as well as with the Canadian organizations Tata Steel Minerals and the South Asian Visual Arts Centre, renews for the seventh successive year its India Residency program, offering the opportunity to Indian artists under the age of 35 to conduct a two month creation residency in Montreal. Strengthening the links established since 2012 between Canada and India, the India Residency at the Darling Foundry allows artists, local and international communities to share their respectives visions, and contribute to a dynamic cultural exchange. Immersed in Montreal’s vibrant artistic scene, the artist in residence has the opportunity to take a critical look at the local cultural context, while in return promoting artistic practices that are under-represented in North America.

Inviting artists and cultural practitioners in the areas of performing and visual arts, literature, design and interactive media to apply for residencies being awarded by Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. A residency for Swiss artists in South Asia ( to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka) or, conversely, for artists from South Asia (from either India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka) in Switzerland gives artists the chance to gain a broad insight into a different cultural environment. Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art - Public Art Grant 2019  |  grants

The FICA Public Art Grant is aimed at supporting art projects located in the public realm in India. Through the grant, FICA aims to generate interest in public art projects, and initiate an open debate among artists, local communities and the larger public to engage with shared environments in new ways. The winning proposal will be selected by a distinguished panel of judges. The recipient of the grant will receive a maximum of Rs. 3 lakhs for the project detailed in their application. The period of the grant is one year (1 January to 31 December 2020). Upon completion of the project the artist will be required to submit a project report along with complete documentation, and make a final presentation at a public forum.

Artist Residency in Leh, Ladakh  |  residencies

Far Side Collective is inviting 4 artists/designers and 1 curator or art researcher (each session) to join them for 30 day residency in July or September 2019, living and working from their modest studio/house in Leh. All artists can give preferences for Session 1 (July) or Session 2 (September). The residency will closely look at the 'border'. The imaginary line of separation, not only in terms of political discourses but also in terms of people - 'the local' and 'the outsider'. These complex 'borders' will be investigated over the month, maybe not to understand rather to acknowledge and celebrate. They are looking for passionate people who can draw, film, shoot, write and create art works around the curatorial note/preliminary idea discussed above.

The Prince Claus Fund’s Mobility Fund supports the cross-cultural exchange of artists and cultural practitioners. By covering travel costs, such as economy class plane or train tickets, the Mobility Fund assists in the professional growth and networking abilities of those it supports. The Mobility Fund is open throughout the year to receive applications. It is specifically intended for artists and cultural practitioners living in, residing in and travelling from countries listed on the DAC list (India is one of the countries).
