The Art X Company has been commissioned by the British Council India to identify current trends, key stakeholders and support systems, as well as challenges, needs and priorities of the cultural sector across India’s metros. The study will cover face to face and online consultations, telephonic interviews, online surveys to reach cultural professionals across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai. This information will be used to develop the British Council’s upcoming five-year strategy for their arts and culture programmes in India. The output includes an external publicly available report on trends and opportunities in the cultural sector, and an internal report that will feed into the British Council art strategy for 2018-2022.
