OVERVIEW
To document the challenges faced by arts organisations in South Asia – addressing financial sustainability, stakeholders expectations and how to ultimately succeed in creating new projects and implementing them in the arts.

Commissioned by the Asia Europe Foundation, the project was undertaken by the Art X Company on behalf of ArThinkSouthAsia (ATSA).
The Art X Company offered to develop research-driven case studies that outlined challenges and successes of arts organisations in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. These organisations represent the diverse cultural and socio-political context within the South Asian region.

Case Study
OUTCOME
7 case studies on arts management concerns such as financial sustainability, strategic planning, audience development, running institutions within challenging political contexts were developed.
This resulted in a robust compilation of caselets for ATSA to use in its Fellowship training, while adding to the growing number of resources available for training and practice in arts management in the region.
