Arts and Culture Opportunities, Residencies, Workshops, Jobs in India, a.k.a Arts and Culture Resources India (ACRI) is a space for knowledge exchange, information sharing, networking and learning for cultural and creative industry professionals in India. ACRI began as a Facebook group to connect people who were looking for job and learning opportunities in the arts and culture sector in India. It now enjoys a strong online presence with over 48,000 members (as on January 2019). Since 2013, it has been run by 7 volunteers who act as moderators of the group. This is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led initiative. Click here to visit the Facebook group.

With the intent of taking these online interactions offline and to address the need for a robust system of arts administration in the arts and culture sector, ACRI conceptualised the ACRI Culture Meets - networking events - across eight cities in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Pune, Jaipur and Bhopal). The idea germinated over the last six months to consolidate community building for the cultural sector through ACRI City Chapters, with three city Chapters starting in March 2019 in Pune, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The Chapters will host events and activities that engage cultural professionals in cities across India. From networking sessions to upskilling workshops, presentations of research and non-artistic, industry-facing work, and capacity building initiatives, these offline events are tangible ways to create connections between cultural professionals and projects.

Partners for ACRI Chapters across cities include:

  • Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai

  • Harkat Studios, Mumbai

  • The Habitat, Mumbai

  • TIFA Working Studios, Pune

  • Shoonya, Bengaluru

  • ARThink South Asia, Delhi

Become a Chapter Host
ACRI Chapters are city-based curated sessions dedicated to the development of an arts administration system and network for the city. Each city will have its own Chapter Host who will play a crucial role in facilitating the sessions and will help in taking the ACRI vision forward. Chapter Hosts are those who work towards building the creative economy in India and can consist of any of the following: An individual, organisation, collective, or venue that understands the lacuna in the city and has ideas on how to address it. They should also have access to culture professionals and a venue(s) to conduct these sessions.
